A couple funny Carter stories before I forget to document them

I was just think about my cute kids......they are sound asleep and so now I have time to think about how cute they are! I just wanted to share a couple funny things Carter said awhile ago and I might have told some of you but I wanted to write it down here so I don't forget. One Sunday we walked into church, he noticed the large area that wasn't being used and asked me what that was. I said oh, that's the basketball court. I wasn't think there would be anymore to that and he said, "Wow Jesus has a basketball court in his house"! I thought that was cute but I was also glad he had been listening when I told him that at church we are at Jesus's house.

Then I'm not sure if it was that same Sunday or not but the sacrament was being passed. I told Carter that this is when we need to be really quite and think about Jesus. I was explaining about the bread and water and how when we eat the bread and drink the water that it's helping us remember Jesus. Carter was very good and quite until......he looked up and said, "Is Jesus under that white blanket"? He was referring to the white table cloth used to cover the bread and water. He said it very loud and everyone got a good little giggle out of it.

We were watching President Hinckleys funeral on TV. It was a neat experience to explain to Carter what was going on. It's the first time we have really talked about death. I was explaining how President Hinkleys body was in the casket and his sprit was in heaven with Heavenly Father. Carter asked, "What does his sprit look like"? I was caught off guard a little so I quickly looked to my Dad to answer that one. Carter was listening very carefully to everything that was said. He then said he knew a song about President Hinckley. We asked what it was and he said, Follow the Prophet. He loves learning all the songs in primary. He's such a good kid!

I'm so grateful for my kids and all they teach me. It's so fun to look at life through a child's eye and go back to the basics. I love being a mom. Well, today anyway! LOL

During President Hinckleys funeral, Jeremy broke out some of his missionary visuals and explained how your spirit leaves your body and goes to the spirit world. Cardon was totally interested. What a good opportunity to teach our little ones.
